Tara and Charmaine are rushed to the hospital in the same ambulance, where Charmaine declares her baby off limits to her crazy sister; Tara attempts to make a deal with her alters, which intrigues her Abnormal Psychology professor; Marshall, Lionel and Noah put Charmaine’s empty house to some creative uses; Kate is embarrassed to confess that she backed out of going to Japan.
Between college and planning Charmaine’s baby shower, Tara reaches a breaking point and transitions, which sets off a battle royal among her alters for control. Meanwhile, a natural disaster puts a crimp in Kate’s plan to go to Japan, but an encounter with an attractive flight attendant has her flying high and contemplating employment opportunities in the States; and Max visits his compulsive-hoarder mother to get her to sign off on the sale of his business.
Her psychology professor humiliates Tara when she transitions in his class. Meanwhile, Kate considers giving English lessons in Japan and Max gets a business offer.
In the third-season premiere, Tara decides to go back to college, which Max doesn’t think is a good idea and frets that the stress may conjure up one of her alters. Meanwhile, Kate contemplates her future; pregnant Charmaine still won’t commit to Neil; and Marshall and Lionel go in on a video camera for their filmmaking class.
